Your bedroom should be a haven and your own personal space - unfortunately it's also the room most likely to be unorganized and jumbled. Maybe you have piles of clothes that don't have room in the closets or drawers, or maybe you have tried to squeeze your home office into the space as well. The good news is you don't have to put up with a cluttered bedroom, and it's not going to be as hard as you might think to get everything organized in a way that works for you.

The first step with every bedroom is to go through the clothes closets and get rid of everything you don't need. Chances are you have all types of articles of clothing that don't really fit the best or that you wear on a regular basis. Making more room in your closet also makes it a lot easier to find things when you are searching for them. Check with local non profit groups near you to see if they accept donations of the things you are clearing out. Try not to buy any other things once you declutter, you can likely survive without the latest and greatest cute kitchen gadgets - otherwise all your hard work may have been for nothing.

After you have decluttered all of the things in your room, next is to decide how you will organize everything in your newly found space. You can often find inexpensive closet organization kits which you can easily assemble yourself and install. If you're stuck for ideas on what to do, take a walk through a closet store for some inspiration, you'll be amazed at the possibilities.

Once you've mastered the closet, and found a way to organize all of your things in it, your bedroom can once again become the relaxing space it is supposed to be. When you get rid of the stuff you don't use, you can get the most of the space to make it work best for your needs.
